What does BOHÄUS mean?
Bohäus was born from a journey across continents, cultures, and coffee cups.
Upon arriving in Australia, Alan fell in love with the local coffee culture. Coffee had already been running through his veins since childhood in Brazil, but here in Sydney he discovered a whole new level of passion, community, and craft.
Ten years later, the first Bohäus café opened. The name captures what we stand for:
Bo — for bohemian vibes, creativity, and freedom.
häus — for German precision, discipline, and quality.
Together, Bohäus represents balance: joy and excellence, community and craft. Above all, it embodies excellence with a smile.
OUR BEANS
Where do the beans come from?
Every cup at Bohäus starts with carefully sourced beans. We partner with farmers in Brazil, Colombia, and Ethiopia, choosing origins that reflect both quality and sustainability.
On our bean bags you’ll see the journey: the altitude where the beans are grown, the variety, and the notes you can expect in your cup. Think chocolatey sweetness from Brazil, bright citrus from Ethiopia, and smooth balance from Colombia.
Each roast is crafted here in Sydney, designed to highlight those natural flavors while giving our community a consistent and joyful experience.
